Hi guys
Last week again saw our diary a little quiet but come the middle of the week it was full steam ahead carrying out some pretty crazy removals. If you didn’t know ‘crazy’ is our middle name and so we embraced it and got the jobs done!!
The first was us finally getting to move Mr & Mrs Brown, due to hold ups they had been trying to move house since August!!!! It was touch and go right through to the last minute if it would go through but thankfully it did and we got them moved from Doncaster to Thurnscoe, Rotherham.
We removed Mr H from storage to his new apartment in Crosspool, Sheffield. We were given a long list of do’s and don’ts with regards to access of the property; but even so it was a difficult unload for our guys. Due to the nature of the complex we had multiple corridors, fire safety doors plus a couple flights of stairs to navigate. Making the day a long one but by the end Mr H was all moved in.
On Thursday we started Mr P who had been recommended to us by a friend who we had moved a few years previously, he was moving from a large property in Ackworth, Wakefield to another property in Pontefract. We love recommendations!!!
Friday started out like any other Friday in the removal industry; busy!! We were in Sheffield carrying out a storage job for Mrs H, it was day 2 in Ackworth for Mr P and the start of the removal for the Frunza’s from Thurgoland to Mirfield.
The Frunza’s removal was pretty tricky to organise right from the quotation stage as the mum was Romanian and spoke no English and the daughter was a Doctor who seemed to be permanently on call. We dealt with the lovely Sheila who was employed as translator and general organiser.
We sent our rep Terry out to assess and although Sheila had mentioned about there being a large quantity of animals in cages it wasn’t until we visited that the scale could be appreciated!! (See pictures of animals). There was also a large amount of furniture that would need to be dismantled and reassembled. We work closely with a joiner who was able to provide a separate quotation for the removal of the bannister (See picture of bannister), the dismantling of the large oak four poster bed and the summer house.
Although initially we were only moving the house contents over 2 days; our services were booked for a further 2 days to help move some 200 pot plants and garden furniture including the summer house. (See pictures of garden) The access at the new property in Mirfield caused a few problems as the 7.5 ton vehicle could not fit on the drive which meant that we could only use the 3.5 ton van; making it a longer day than anyone would have liked. But in usual Andrews fashion we got it done.
Once again this week showed how in order to succeed in this industry you need to be flexible and be able to work within tight timescales and be able to accommodate customers at short notice.
